JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER TECHNICAL COMPLIANCE (AMTC)
REPORTSTO: DIRECTOR TECHNICAL REGULATION

JOB PURPOSE:
• To monitor technical compliance of all licenced companies in the electricity industry; review procedures and standards in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Act Cap 145 and other regulations.

KEY DUTIES
• Support the development and implementation of policies and strategies for the regulation of electricity generation, transmission and distribution; Initiate, develop and maintain policies, strategies and standards for Quality of Supply;
• Identify, formulate and implement criteria for
• monitoring and evaluating performance of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution companies
• Coordinate performance monitoring and benchmarking of all licensees' activities.
• Propose and develop Demand Side Management (DSM) policies and data performance benchmarks on production efficiency and customers; Provide technical support to the ERA dispute resolution processes.
• Develop uniform electricity industry standards and participate in monitoring and enforcement.
• Advise on the required investments in Transmission and distribution and monitor the sector investments. Work as part of the team on sector planning.
• To participate in task team meeting and carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Job requirement

Minimum Education and Experience Competecies and skills
• Proficiency in relevant computer packages. Analytical and report writing skills
• Team player with excellent communication skills Must be ready 10 travel extensively around the Country.

Qualifications:
An Honors degree in Electrical Engineering.
A post¬graduate degree in Energy related field is an added advantage. Should be a Registered Engineer or qualify for registration with the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda, or equivalent
Experience:
At least five (5) years of relevant working experience of which three should have been in an electricity generation, transmission, distribution and sales utility or comparable organization. Should have some knowledge related to electricity network planning
Age: At least 32 years but not more than 40 years. Salary and benefits
The successful candidate shall be paid a competitive and all-inclusive salary within levels of 5 A of ERA staff salary scales.
