Preferred Skills: Medical Teams International, a faith based not for profit health relief and development organization, operating in Northern and South Western Uganda is in the process of recruiting persons for the positions below. 
Regional Program Manager South Western Uganda
1 position Based in Mbarara 
The regional program manager will provide administrative support and work closely with all program staff at the regional offices to coordinate administration issues, ensuring efficient programs management, communication systems and compliance with MTI procedures. 
Reporting to the Country Director, the specific roles would be: 
Duties and responsibilities 
-Provide programmatic, operational and administrative leadership in the region.
- Supervise the implementation of all MTI projects and ensure activities are in line with budgets
- Monitor achievement of project objectives and take the lead role in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual program reports.
-Ensure projects comply with International Programs, donor and government of Uganda guidelines.
-Establish and maintain productive and credible relationship with the local government authorities, other stakeholders particularly in the health sector and churches in the region
-Represent MTI at all meetings in the region and where necessary participate in national level meetings
-Provide technical and administrative support to the Country Director.
-Assist in hiring, induction and training of new staff on project cycle management.
-Ensure reports and success stories are completed in accordance with the deadlines/compliances, requirements and undertake report editing where necessary.
-Communicate professionally and efficiently with MTI HQ, staff, volunteers, partners, Donors, government, church and community leaders related to project implementation.
-Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Country Director. Essential Competencies and Experience
-Bachelor's Degree in humanities or equivalent, with a Masters degree in any of the administration fields
-At least 3 years experience in a senior administrative position.
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Access PowerPoint, Outlook and internet research.

Program Manager, Child survival Program

1 position Based in Lira
The Position will report to the Regional Manager Northern Uganda and will be responsible for overseeing planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Child Survival Project activities.  
These activities include behavior change and community mobilization for maternal and child health and capacity building.  
The Project Manager oversees a team of four national staff, with responsibilities for monitoring and evaluation staff performance.   
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-With assistance from HQ Child Survival, M&E and Capacity Building advisors, design and evaluate Child Survival activities and respond appropriately if changes are required.
-Coordinate Project activities with the Lira DHO and women's groups from churches and monitor their performance and provide capacity building assistance as needed.
-Lead quarterly Child Survival Coordination meetings, soliciting input for the agenda from each partner.
-Establish strong working relationships within the Child Survival and community health network in Uganda.
-Support, supervise and provide capacity building for MTI
- Uganda CSP staff. -Assist Child Survival team and DHO to maintain a Project work plan and implement activities in a timely manner.
-Oversees delivery of quality behavior change and community mobilization activities, especially with church women's groups. 
-With Country Director and Finance/ Administration Officer, monitor Project budget and report expenses in a timely manner and coordinate logistics with the finance department
-Share lessons learned with MTI HQ, other MTI country programs and other organizations implementing community health programs in Uganda.
-Remain current in best practices, current issues and trends in CS and international health.

Desired Minimum Qualifications
-Medical personnel with  a strong background in community health and additional training in management/administration
-Proven experience with Child Survival programming and behavior change and community mobilization strategies.
-At least three years successful experience managing community health programs in developing countries
