BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE LATEST JOB VACANCIES IN UGANDA : RECRUITMENT FOR MEDICAL OFFICERS .2POSITIONS (VACANCIES IN UGANDA 2011)

BACKGROUND: The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Uganda (Baylor -Uganda) headquartered at Mulago hospital, is a comprehensive HIV care and treatment organization that supports the treatment and care of HIV infected and affected Children and Adults.
Baylor – Uganda has three operational areas; HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services, Health Professional training and Clinical Research
.
Baylor-Uganda is in receipt of PEPFAR grant through CDC, and is looking for knowledgeable, enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to become part of its comprehensive care and treatment team. In response to the increasing workload, these positions are available.

1. Medical Officer for Safe Male Circumcision - 2 position
Duty station: West Nile, Soroti
Reports to: The Care and Treatment Specialist
Role Definition: To plan and monitor the implementation of safe medical male circumcision activities in Partner Districts and Health facilities in accordance with MOH guidelines.
Key Result Areas
• Develop, review and monitor monthly work plans for Safe medical Male Circumcision for a given time frame in line with Baylor’s planning and financial guide lines.
• Support partner Districts and Health facilities to integrate planning for Safe medical Male Circumcision into District work plans, budgets and performance measurement plans.
• Plan and participate in building the capacity of partner Districts and Health Facilities to integrate and implement Safe medical Male Circumcision activities in line with Baylor – Uganda set standards.
• Carry out monitoring and evaluation exercises of planned activities with the M&E team for safe medical male circumcision in accordance with the program evaluation guidelines.
• Support Partner Districts to conduct and coordinate progress review meetings, Men’s reproductive health activities, Health Education, HCT and follow ups of cases with contraindications and complications got as a result of Safe Male Circumcision.
• Provide technical support to partner Districts in integrating and conducting support supervision of safe male circumcision activities as part of the overall District plan for support supervision of Health services.
• Prepare reports about Safe Male Circumcision activities and submit them to the Care and Treatment specialist for review in accordance with established reporting guide lines.


QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
• Holder of MBChB degree from a recognized University
• At least 2 years of professional experience after qualification
• Proficient in safe medical male circumcision surgical procedures
• Proficient in making diagnosis and management of clinical and surgical complications
• Good counseling and health education skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
