MOUNTAIN GORILLA ORGANIC COFFEE ESTATES ASSOCIATION (MGOCA)
Supported by the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) and LEAD/USAID, MGOCA seeks to recruit a Business Manager to manage its growing business activities and guide it in building its commercial capacity.
POSITION: MGOCA Business Manager, based in Kisoro, reports to MGOCA Board Chairman.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and track MGOCA finances, prepare and submit required reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of all MGOCA financial obligations.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning process.
• Develop and track key MGOCA business performance indicators.
• Identify, evaluate and recommend additional revenue streams for MGOCA.
• Maintain vibrant MGOCA relationship with donors and customers.
• Guide MGOCA marketing efforts.
• Build Board of Director business management skills.
• Manage MGOCA Secretariat and recommend potential new positions as the need arises.
ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Business Management, Marketing or Finance from a recognized university.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
• At least 7 years work experience.
• In-depth understanding of Uganda’s coffee sector, experience in coffee production, processing, marketing and trading.
• Demonstrated familiarity with financial management tools. Ability to design, implement and use internal financial systems.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited resources.
• Experience managing a business including strong project planning and management skills.
• Experience working with farmers in rural communities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, motivational and team management skills.
PERSONAL QUALITIES: Integrity and transparency; ability to blend into the community and thrive up-country.
