LABARATORY TECHNICIAN: Based in Arua Job summary:
The laboratory technician will work to aid in the laboratory diagnosis of patients/clients so as to help the project initiate and monitor treatment of patients
General Duties:
* Participate in the ARV laboratory activities such as HIV testing, CD4 count, Chemistry tests, Haematology e.t.c * To work in collaboration with MOH staff * Preparation of samples for TB quality control * Ensure proper monitoring of the safety of blood at Arua regional referral hospital. * Participate in the collection of monthly laboratory statistical data. * Ensure team work, smooth running and sustainability of the laboratory activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. * Participate in the transportation of specimens and to ensure quality system management General Qualifications:
* Minimum requirement should be a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institute. * Registration with Uganda Allied Heath Professional’s Council. * Minimum working experience of at least 2 years in a large hospital setting preferred and experience in HIV testing activities highly valued. * Well-developed communication, organisational laboratory technical skills. * Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision * Advanced computer knowledge in Word and Excel programs * Should be ready to adapt to any extra responsibilities assigned from time to time Dead line for this position: July 19th 2011.
