NETHERLANDS DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION LATEST JOB VACANCIES IN GHAN: RECRUITMENT FOR FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (VACAMNCIES IN UGANDA 2011)

SNV is an international development organisation, created as a foundation in the Netherlands in 1963. We currently work in 32 countries in the world, most of them in Africa. SNV started working in Uganda in 1989. At present we work mainly in West Nile, Central, Rwenzori and North East regions.
For our office in Arua we are looking for a competent, motivated, result-oriented individual to fill the position of Finance and Administration Officer.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The FAO reports hierarchically to the portfolio coordinator and functionally to the Country Controller and is responsible for daily financial and personnel administration, logistics, ICT and facilities administration at regional office level.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance administration:
Record financial transactions in ledger system; prepare and check monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts; forecasts and project depletion for the office and submit to Country Controller; follow up on portfolio related receipts and payments; reconcile bank balances and manage liquidity levels of the portfolio; take care of petty cash and supplier payment. Human Resources Administration Maintain sickness and leave administration and prepare

monthly sickness / leave reports; deliver relevant HR data with regard to the office and monitor the monthly portfolio time writing; Process forms, ensure time writing database is updated and record relevant data in databases as requested; Steers internal drivers and cleaners & outsourced gardening and guard services General Support
Keep agendas up to date, arrange meetings and appointments; receive and answer phone calls and emails; draft correspondence, signal bottlenecks in planning and suggest solutions based on requests of team and agreed general support routines Logistics Services
Make travel arrangement for team members; attend to visitors; manage the office fleet; provide basic ICT support and arrange the portfolio procurements; based on the authorization; guidelines and with the' approval of the portfolio coordinator

Job requirement

a) Education and work experience:
1. University degree in Finance, Business administration or Commerce.
2. Professional qualification in accountancy will be an added advantage.

b) Work experience and knowledge
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience; Good communication skills; Good planning and organizing; Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet; Email)
