PEAS LATEST JOB VACANMCIES IN UGANDA

PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) is a UK-based charity. We use an innovative SmartAid model to develop sustainable secondary schools that permanently widen access to secondary education in Uganda, and soon also in Zambia. Our dream is that one day every child in Africa will benefit from a quality secondary education. Only one in four Ugandans is able to continue their education beyond primary school because of a lack of secondary school places and high fees. Join PEAS in creating 100,000 sustainable secondary school places in Uganda!
This summer PEAS is launching an ambitious plan to build around 100 schools with 1,000 children in each in Uganda by 2017. PEAS emphasises certain values that form the basis of our approach to education and our schools:
PEAS schools are open to all students irrespective of ability and personal characteristics. PEAS schools never discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, physical disability, sexual orientation or primary school performance.
Personal security
PEAS schools are safe places that work to instill positive behavioural management systems, which help Ugandan staff move away from the use of corporal punishment. PEAS carries out risk assessment inspections in all the schools.
Relevant learning
As a minimum, PEAS schools guarantee that students leave with literacy, numeracy, and at least one vocational skill.
Professional development
Through extensive inspection and reciprocal lesson observation, PEAS embeds student-centred learning and professional accountability where staff are responsible for their own success.
