US AID LATEST JOB VACANCIES IN UGANDA RECRUITMENT

The USAID-funded Sustainable Tourism in the
Albertine Rift (STAR) Program is seeking qualified
candidates for full time positions. The USAID STAR
program’s objective is to strengthen sustainable
tourism in support of biodiversity conservation in

Uganda.

The Biodiversity Habitat Conservation Coordinator
will be based between Kampala and the Albertine Rift.
She / He will work with program team and partners
to design, implement, and monitor program tourism
development activities that would ensure sustainable
biodiversity conservation.
Key tasks:
• Ensure sustainable biodiversity conservation
through supporting designing and implementation
of specific and timely strategic program
interventions for effective sustainable tourism
sector development;
• Develop program tools that measure and ensure
biodiversity areas benefit from increased tourism;
• Ensure program efforts to conserve the Albertine
Rift’s important biodiversity link with the tourism
sector development;
• Ensure that tourism activities/products being
developed do not pose a threat to the species and
their habitats; and
• Participate in the overall national tourism
development policy analysis- focusing
especially on advising on how tourism could be
strengthened to support conservation.
Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree
in Natural Resource Management, or Environmental
Conservation Studies, or related field especially
protected areas management; with a minimum of 5
years relevant work experience providing technical
expertise in implementation of conservation programs or practical conservation/tourism training programs.
Fluency of written and spoken English and strong
computer skills
