The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) was established through an Act of Parliament (2001) of which three organs, the Secretariat, the Board and Farmers Forum were established.
In order to ensure policy implementation and operationalisation of the strategic plans of the organisation, meet the national strategic objectives embedded in the National Development Plan (NDP) in the context of the Agricultural Sector Development Strategy and Investment Plan (DSIP), and achieve Prosperity For All (PFA), the National Agricultural Advisory Services Board now invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant positions at the NAADS Secretariat.

14. INTERNAL AUDITOR(1POSTl
Purpose: To carry out value for money audits and ensure that all expenditures of the organisation are in accordance to Government rules and regulations

Reports to:
Directly to the Audit sub-committee of the Board and administratively to the Executive Director for management decisions.

DUTIES:
• Review the effectiveness of internal con systems related to financial, material an human resources management in the Secretariat
• Carryout periodic examination of record: and transactions in order to ensure that books of accounts and financial reports accurate free of errors and fraud.
• Assess adherence to financial regulations and procedures with regards to receipts, banking and expenditure and ensure expenditure control within budget estimates.
• Undertake resource verification including periodic stores and cash counts at NAADS Secretariat and Local Government (LG) levels.
• Examine and verify stock control system which will safeguard the Secretariat assets and ensure that they are used appropriately for NAADS operations.
• Review the preparation of final accounts and reports
• Review the implementation of external a recommendation
• Conduct special investigations as may b necessary from time to time.
• any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

Job requirement

Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Commerce, BBA,BA/BSc Accounting, full member of professional body- ACCA, CPA, CIA.
• Masters degree in related field will be added advantage.


Experience
At least 5 years relevant experience 3 of which must have been at a senior level with increasing responsibility demonstrated in Auditing big organisations in the public and or private sector.
