Job Title: Survey Assistant (3)
REF No UM/
NP/04/08/II
Reports to: Survey Supervisor
Department: Network (Planning & Loss Reduction)
Job Purpose:
To survey power line routes and prepare appropriate drawings

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out preliminary surveys of proposed power line routes
• Audit constructed lines
• Stake out power line routes
• Flag possible environmental issues on projects
• Update the survey archive of all surveys done
• Issue notification of intention to construct a line for wayleaves purposes and negotiation for wayleaves consent

Job requirement

Required Qualifications:
• Ordinary Diploma in Land Surveying
• One year relevant experience


Knowledge, skills & personal attributes
• Knowledge of survey standards and procedures
• Knowledge of operation of survey equipment
• Knowledge of drawing software (Micro station CAD or Auto CAD)
• Knowledge of GIS system and relevant software
• Knowledge of electricity network planning and construction techniques
• Good communication skills.
• Negotiation skills
