RECRUITING COMPANY PROFILE
Transparency International – Uganda is a registered CSO with the Uganda NGO Registration Board and the national chapter of Transparency International a global coalition against corruption.

Tl-Uganda implements initiatives in promoting transparency and accountability in Uganda through research, advocacy, citizen awareness creation and participation among others.
The post of Executive Director, the topmost job at the Secretariat, will soon fall vacant and needs to be filled. Suitable candidates should apply.

Responsibilities Include:

Management, funding and financial control:
• Head the TIU secretariat, act as accounting officer and provide overall organization operation oversight, and staff supervision. He/she is accountable to the Board of Director.
• Provide strategic vision, guidance and leadership on matters relating to Tl Uganda strategy, planning, management, governance and budget.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements in all operations of the organization,
• Develop and implement sustainable fundraising strategies and manage finances as per the organization’s policies and regulations.
• Ensure quality and timely production and distribution of programme/project reports, consultants reports, Board documents, publications and official communications

Programme management and staff supervision:
• Develop and manage new and ongoing programmes/ interventions basing on the terms of the contract.
• Develop and apply learning, monitoring and evaluation criteria to better measure the effectiveness and outcomes of TIU interventions.
• Supervise staff and develop mechanism for staff appraisal, capacity enhancement and motivation.
• Ensure that Tl Uganda maintains a strong profile and good working relationships with all its stakeholders and partners.
• Supervise and provide substantive guidance, feedback and support to programme staff in refining programme direction, priorities, designing and implementing programmes/projects
• Provide leadership in the process of developing annual programmes, activities and budgets with Board and staff in relationship with TIU vision and mission.

General and administrative responsibilities:
• Regular review of the operations structure of Tl Uganda to ensure its well structured to meet the objectives and goals of the organization.
• Leading the development and regular review of the organization strategic plan to suit the prevailing circumstances and demands of the stakeholders.
• Responsible for all communications with external stakeholders.

• Provide guidance and leadership on programming, strategy, governance and management of TIU.
• Ensure the development and application of learning, monitoring and evaluation criteria to better measure the effectiveness and outcomes of TIU.
• Represent TIU at meetings, events networks within and outside the accountability sector
• Oversee the planning for Board, AGM and membership meetings and activities
• Develop and oversee mechanisms for regular staff
• communications and meetings between colleagues as well as the Board.
• Ensure compliance with internal policy and legal requirements
Requirement:

Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in any of the following areas; project planning and management, public administration, social sciences and law.
• 10 years working experience with a sizeable proportion in the Civil Society sector more preferably in the areas of good governance i. e voice and accountability, transparency and anti corruption.
• Substantive knowledge of the Uganda's political landscape, legal and policy framework
• Five years experience as a manager of an NGO/CSO private/ public institution.
• Experience in fund raising, networking and donor relations.
• Project management cycle i.e. design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
• Proven commitment to integrity, transparency and accountability,
• Extraordinary ability to initiate, create and capacity to think and operate strategically
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse array of people
• Team spirit and respectful working and decision making style.
• Willingness to travel widely in and outside Uganda
Remuneration: Competitive remuneration and a good benefits package to the suitable candidate.
